Southern Wind Rendezvous and Trophy

12 Souther Wind yachts will be sailing in Porto Cervo this week, as the join the 18th edition of the Southern Wind Rendezvous and Trophy, organised by the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda as part of the Giorgio Armani Superyacht Regatta.

The 12-strong line up is a new record for the Southern Wind event, and they’ll be welcoming many first-time participants.

Two SW boats will be competing in the Superyacht Class of the Giorgio Armani Super Yacht Regatta and will be manned by highly professional crews headed by enthusiastic owners: the historically super competitive RP-NAUTA 100 Morgana and the new challenger on the block SW96 Liberty Squared.

Five yachts have signed up to compete in the Superyacht Corinthian Spirit Class, a new division offering a perfect balance of performance and sailing enjoyment. Sailing in this division, is the SW105 Sorvind by Giorgio Armani, chartered for the occasion by the fashion house and crewed by a mix of professionals and guests.

SW108 Gelliceaux is joining for the first time, as is SW100 Grillo Parlante . SW94 Magic Blue is also coming in with a fresh competitive spirit and an owner who has a long career in racing. Last, but no least, the SW82 Grande Orazio, one of Southern Wind’s most faithful veterans whose owner will as always be proudly at the helm trying to confirm his undisputed Palmares of victories in Porto Cervo.

Five yachts will join the Southern Wind Rendezvous Class and will sail the course to the maximum enjoyment of all on board. Amongst these are SW96: Ammonite, Nyumba and Sorceress, SW105 No Rush (formerly Taniwha), and finally, SW100 Agapi Mas – another new owner and first time Rendezvous participant.
