Corinthian Class

Introduced by SYRA in 2017, the Corinthian Spirit Class welcomes yachts to ‘come as they are’ for regatta participation. Created with the intention of making regatta racing more accessible to a wider variety of owners, the Corinthian Class has been extremely successful in growing the fleet numbers.

Joining a regatta and sailing in the Corinthian Class requires fewer crew, can reduce expense, and permits fun, competitive racing with a streamlined handicap certification.

The most notable criteria and class specific rule precludes spinnakers, Code 0 sails and mizzen staysails. Additionally, jibs on furlers or hanks are a must. All participants are required to have a valid ORC Corinthian Spirit (ORCcs) handicap certificate and an experienced RRS-Safety Afterguard Member on board.
